The members of the NUT (National Union of Teachers) have balloted teachers and the outcome is that there will be discontinuous strike action. The first strike was on the 8th May, the next date is yet to be confirmed, but will be before the summer holidays.

The other unions at Withins School are now in negotiations with members on joining the NUT in strike action.

The staff at Withins have lobbied governors, the sponsors and Margaret Asquith with our actions and concerns.

A community action committee is being set up to help gather local support against the academy.

There will be leaflets delivered in the local area, explaining what is happening to Withins School.

A meeting is being organised with speakers explaining the effect of an academy to the local area.
